Starting point: Aiguille du Midi
The Aiguille du Midi is a mountain in the Mont Blanc massif within the French Alps. It is a very popular tourist destination and can be directly accessed by cable car from Chamonix. It receives half a million visits a year and puts visitors as close to Mont Blanc as they can without having any mountaineering experience.


Mer de Glace
The Mer de Glace is a valley glacier located on the northern slopes of the Mont Blanc massif, in the French Alps. It is 3.4 miles long and 660 feet deep but, when all its tributary glaciers are taken into account, it can be regarded as the longest and largest glacier in France, and the second longest in the Alps.

Directions: From Place de l’Aiguille du Midi, take a right on Rue du Lyret which will curve to the left. Turn right on Rue Helbronner and left on Rue des Allobroges. After you pass the Chamonix-Mont-Blanc Station, take a right.
