Windsor Castle can be reached by train from London, which generally takes between 30 minutes and an hour. Please visit the Train Line website to purchase tickets. Alternatively, you can rent a car and see both Hampton Court Palace and Windsor Castle, which I did. For more information on my journey, click here.
Windsor Castle is a royal residence notable for its long association with the English and later British royal family and for its architecture. The original castle was built in the 11th century after the Norman invasion of England by William the Conqueror. Since the time of Henry I, it has been used by all monarchs, and is the longest-occupied palace in Europe.

Directions: Take the Great Western Rail from Paddington Station or the South Western Railway from Waterloo Station. Paddington Station can be reached via the Bakerloo Line, Circle Line, District Line, or Hammersmith & City Line. For Waterloo, take the Bakerloo Line, Jubilee Line, Northern Line, or Waterloo & City Line.

If you leave from Paddington, you will arrive at the Windsor & Eton Riverside Station. If you leave from Waterloo, you will arrive at Windsor & Eton Central. You can combine Windsor with Hampton Court Palace if you drive. To see my suggestions on visiting both by car, click here.
